Thirty-eight sales reps and managers from a roofing contractor spent six nights in Costa Rica. Volcano, zip lines, a catamaran sunset, and one very long awards night.
A roofing contractor in the Midwest runs an annual incentive for reps who clear a revenue number, and in 2025 thirty-eight of them did. The company had done a cruise the previous year and wanted something with more land under it.
Guanacaste works for a group like this because it combines a beach base with a real activity programme. The group stayed in a single resort on the Papagayo peninsula for all six nights, with the excursions spread across four days and two left open.
The volcano day was the highlight for most of the group: hot springs, mud baths and a waterfall hike at Rincón de la Vieja. The zip-line course and the surf lesson at Tamarindo ran on separate mornings so people could choose one or do both. The catamaran sunset closed the trip on the final evening.
The awards dinner ran on the fourth night on the resort's beach deck. Our hosts handled the run-of-show so the company's leadership could present and then sit down with the team.
