A pest control company took its entire field and office team, 180 people, to an all-inclusive in Cancún for five nights. Three resorts were considered; one took the whole group.
Most of our trips are for qualifiers. This one was for everyone. A pest control company with offices across three states hit a company-wide target and had promised the whole team a trip if they did. That meant 180 people, from technicians to the CEO, with a wide range of ages and travel experience.
Cancún was the right call because it handles scale better than anywhere else in Mexico. We shortlisted three resorts that could take the full block and chose the one with the strongest beachfront venue for the awards night. Everyone stayed in the same property, which matters more than people expect for a company trip.
The excursion programme had to work for 180 people without feeling like a school trip. Chichén Itzá and a cenote swim ran as a single day in four coaches, each with its own guide and one of our hosts. The Isla Mujeres catamaran day used two boats leaving thirty minutes apart. The remaining days were resort days with optional activities.
Four hosts travelled with the group. One ran a desk in the lobby every morning for questions, changes and the occasional lost passport.
